==Early life==
Kerrigan was born in Dublin. Inspired by her mother's fashion sense and dressmaking abilities, Kerrigan enrolled at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin.〔Norwich, William.("The Proustian Odyssey" ), ''The New York Times'', 20 August 2000; accessed 4 January 2011.〕 When she was 22 years old, Kerrigan moved to New York City and worked in a job sorting second-hand clothing.〔(), "kosmix", 2000.〕
